چکیده

The acquisition of accurate channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) is a difficult task in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. Partial CSIT is a more realistic assumption, especially for high-mobility mobile users (MUs) whose channel varies very rapidly. In this letter, we propose a MIMO two-way relaying (MTWR) scheme, in which the communication between the BS and a high-mobility MU is assisted by other low-mobility MUs serving as relays. This produces a beamforming effect that can significantly improve the performance of the high-mobility MU, especially for a large number of MUs and unreliable CSIT. key words: two-way relay, MIMO, partial CSIT

Two-Way Relaying-Based Two-Hop Two-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output System

In multi-hop communication systems, two-way relaying is one of the solutions to mitigate the spectral efficiency loss caused by a half-duplex transmission. In this paper, a simple two-way relaying scheme is proposed for two-hop two-user multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. In the proposed system, a base station and a relay station (RS), both equipped with two antennas, form a point-to...

Interference alignment-and-cancellation scheme based on Alamouti code for the three-user multi-input-multi-output interference channel

An interference alignment (IA) scheme for interference channels was recently proposed to achieve the maximum degrees of freedom (DoF). Although most studies of IA focus on network throughput, that is, DoF, reliability in terms of diversity order is also an important performance measure. In this study, interference cancellation (IC) scheme based on Alamouti code in the multi-access scenario is a...

Minimum number of antennas and degrees of freedom of multiple-input-multiple-output multi-user two-way relay X channels

In this study, the minimum number of antennas at each user is derived to obtain 2M degrees of freedom (DOF) in the M × 1 ×M multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) multi-user two-way relay X channels. Based on the design of beamforming vectors for the conventional signal space alignment scheme, it is shown that each user needs at least ⌈M − (M/2)⌉ antennas to obtain DOF 2M with the relay having M...

Multi-user MIMO in LTE and LTE-Advanced - Receiver Structure and Precoding Design

The spatial dimension surfacing from the usage of multiple antennas promises improved reliability, higher spectral efficiency [24], and the spatial separation of users [6]. This spatial dimension (MIMO) is particularly beneficial for precoding in the downlink of multi-user cellular systems (broadcast channel), where these spatial degrees of freedom at the transmitter can be used to transmit dat...

Massive MIMO Inspired 2-Stage Design of the Multi-Cell Multi-User MIMO Downlink

The Interfering Broadcast Channel (IBC) applies to the downlink of (cellular and/or heterogeneous) multi-cell networks, which are limited by multi-user (MU) interference. The interference alignment (IA) concept has shown that interference does not need to be inevitable. In particular spatial IA in the MIMO IBC allows for low latency. However, IA requires perfect and typically global Channel Sta...
